Gutter Cleaning

Gutter clearing should be a routine task for any homeowner. Whether you live close to trees in the bush or not it’s important to maintain your gutters and allow rain to free flow from to roof into the downpipes. JH Group Window Cleaning & Pressure Washing carry all necessary equipment to tackle most gutter requirements. Ideally, we prefer to hand clear/vacuum the gutters and use water pressure as a last resort for blockages.
Failing to routinely maintain the gutters can lead to degradation of the gutter material, if the gutters are not free flowing, stagnant water will attract pests including ants, roaches and mosquitos as well as a build up of plant matter. As well as these you could end up having such a blockage that water will ingress into the home from under the eaves causing damp and mould.
As a caveat to our gutter cleaning service, we do not remove or install gutter guards at the moment, if you have gutter guard we advise you contact a specialised installer to remove and clear the gutters.
When should you clean the gutters? This depends on a few factors, if you live in an area where bushfires are common then wed advise you get them cleared twice a year if not more. If you have overhanging tress that shed regularly then you may need more frequent visits than others. As a general rule and annual clean before or after the season changes is a good time to get them done. The other best time to get them done is when you’re having any other work done to the property. Window cleaning, roof cleaning or external house/paths cleaned is ideal as we are already on site and cleaning as we go. If you’re looking for just a gutter clean, depending on the size of the property we may need to plan an additional call out fee for smaller jobs.
At JH Group safety and compliance is our top priority, if we can access a section safely we may advise on next steps to make your property safe and ready for our arrival. In some cases we may not be able to complete the job or reschedule if weather conditions change especially wind and rain.
As with most of our services a report will be made on the conditions of your gutters including before and after images along with any maintenance issues you may need to address in the future.

Solar Panel Cleaning

Solar is a great way to manage to cost of your energy bills, but only if the operate efficiently. It’s a costly process to install and one you don’t want to do often. Unchecked and undermaintained solar panels not only decrease the efficiency of the panels but prolonged dirt and organic materials (lycan build up) can eventually damage the surface of the panel and ultimately require replacement, (usually you can’t just replace one panel either!). this also depends on whether your panels are wired in series or parallel. In a parallel configuration, if one panel is in shade or covered in dirt, only that panel has decreased efficiency. However if they are in series (the cheaper option) then if one panel has 50% efficiency, they ALL have 50% efficiency.
You might be thinking of jut hosing them off from time to time but this could also damage the panels. We use De-ionised water, the same as we use for windows, this means we removed 99% of the dissolved solids in the water leaving no mineral deposits after evaporation, regular tap water will leave these little spots and this too can eat away and react with the outer coating of the solar panels.
At JH Group safety and compliance is our top priority, if we can access a section safely we may advise on next steps to make your property safe and ready for our arrival. In some cases we may not be able to complete the job or reschedule if weather conditions change especially wind and rain. We would also ask you to turn off your solar system prior to work being carried out, water and electricity don’t mix too well, even though they should be safe its best practice just in case.
As with most of our services a report will be made on the conditions of your solar panels including before and after images along with any maintenance issues you may need to address in the future.

Graffiti & Chewing Gum Removal

Chewing Gum and Graffiti are some of the most noticeable and toughest to get rid of. They require specialised equipment and knowledge to deal with them efficiently. One of Australia’s most noticeable achievements to visitors is how clean it is, and lets keep it that way.

On our flagship vehicle we have a mounted hot water pressure system, able to deliver near boiling water at high pressure that makes light work of chewing gum deposits and, with the right application of chemicals graffiti doesn’t stand a chance.

Carrying all the necessary equipment to clean is all well and good but most don’t think about the clean up afterwards. we, do. Large amounts of chewing gum don’t want to be ending up in the storm drain system as we all the graffiti paint doesn’t want to be ending up in the system either.

Our setup and pack down stage involves a wastewater plan to divert wastewater in accordance with the government legislation as well as removing any foreign objects and, where paint is involved, the complete removal of contaminated water from the site. Whether this just be in the form of absorption pads for small messes or the use of a reclaim tank and proper disposal we strive to leave no footprint of out work except the job done well.
